It's the final countdown
In the last ArthroTrainer module, we will practice arthroscopic skills in a more atypical work environment, with the vision and work portals at 90º and in different planes of rotation. In this way, the camera will be to the right or left (both options are valid) of the work portal and will also be rotated 90º clockwise or counterclockwise (it is a free option).
The exercises will follow the same dynamics as in the previous blocks, but with greater demands on the behavior of the image on the screen, as it is not very intuitive.
This scenario can be found in a shoulder arthroscopy with the anterior/posterior portals and the lateral portal, depending on the surgeon's preference for camera orientation.
It is the last module and requires learning to control the depth of the movements, since in the rest of the modules, the fundamental displacement occurred in a frontal plane with respect to the vision portal, generating movements from right to left. Most movement now occurs by moving objects closer or further away from the camera, which will significantly increase the difficulty and control over depth in an arthroscopic field.
Depth control is complex, since in an arthroscopic environment we handle gestures in three dimensions with two-dimensional cameras. Therefore, the movements acquired in blocks 1 and 2 help us to completely control the width and length axes of the screen, with depth control being the main objective of this third and final block of exercises.
